Places Students Should Know in their University and Why

The University as we all know usually occupies a very large part of the City, and as such contains a whole lot of people and buildings.

Taking a little trip from 
the main entrance of your university to the end, you will discover that you have gone pass 1000 buildings or even more, where each building has its own unique function which makes it a place.

During your cause of studying, there are some of this places you will definitely have to visit for one reason or the other.

Vice chancellors Office (V.C.O)

The vice chancellors office is the most important and key office in the university and therefore all student must know where this office is located in the school premises.

Though to an extent there is a restriction placed on the entrance of the office.

But ther

e are occasions where you get invites to the Vice chancellors office for performing excellently well, or when you have to represent the university in a competition or similar. 

And you don’t want to ask by a stranger where the office of your school vice chancellor is and you are left dumb founded.

Student Affairs Division

This office is in charge of all student related matters, including hostel matters, clearance, bursaries, etc.

This is where the Dean of student is Located in the university, and other assisting staffs.

Just in case you are having challenges as a student and you are in need of the managements support, you must have to pass your appeal through the student affairs division.

Also for all those who applied for scholarships, and bursaries, the list of successful candidates will be sent to the student affairs where students will go visit and confirm their names.

Central Records Processing Unit (C.R.P.U)

Health Center

This a small clinic usually located in the university premises. Its primary responsibility is to take good medical care of ill students and staffs who have successfully carried out their health clearance, which is mandatory for most universities.

Being sick is what no one prays for, but it is like an unavoidable situation in the university especially when the environment is not conducive enough.

And in most cases it might be due to low immune system because of lack of rest or too much stress.

Also there might be a situation where a student will be needing an emergency medical attention and you might be the only person in the scene, so definitely you will have to find a way to take that student to the school health center.

School cafeteria

This also known as food court or locally known as “buka”. As the name sounds, it is placed where they sell already prepared meals, of different varieties.

It is essential you know where the university cafeteria is located to enable you enjoy a nice meal, when you are unable to prepare one for yourself.

Conclusion

There are other places that are also important for student to know, like the university’s main library, the university’s bookshop, all the various faculty buildings and all the University’s entrance.

Knowing these place in your university now, will save you a lot embarrassment and time, especially when your attention is needed at a very short notice.

You are not yet familiar with these places in your school, ensure you make a to-do list and include “school tour” where you will have to make plans in visiting this important places.
