 i will like to say A very big congratulations to you on your admission status, regardless of the department you were given provincial admission, it could be your first choice course or a course totally different from what you initially intend to study.

Just be happy and congratulate yourself for making it this far! remember we are in a world were what you study does not determine the kind of job you will get later in the future, neither does it restrict you to the kind of place you can work.
therefore try all you can to make the best out of whatever you do and from whatever course you got admitted.

Uniben official Admission list date and process

When will UNIBEN  release the official 2019/2020 Admission List?
this has been what all aspirant are longing to know, but i am glad to inform you that UNIBEN official 2019/2020 Admission List will officially be released very soon.

The delay is due to the fact that the management of the university of Benin UNIBEN, is trying to ensure that all modalities are on ground before ADMITTING new students. To ensure that the admission process is a lot more easier and less stressful. 


Though it has not been confirmed yet, but there are  rumors on ground concerning the increment of School fees and Hostel allocation fee in the university of BENIN. The authenticity of the rumor can only be ascertained when the school resumes her 2021/2022 academic session.   

The way and manner admission process/procedure  is being carried out in uniben is quite different and unique from other universities.

Uniben Admission list Update

A lot of students having been asking, why is my admission status still showing submit? why was i not admitted on the first batch when i scored above 50? if this are your question please continue reading carefully;

We all know that the university of benin post utme screening exercise usually takes a maximum of two weeks to complete,
 and the result of those who sat for the post utme screening exercise will be released in less than a week after completion of the screening exercise.

And in other to meet up with the university calendar, a week or two after the result of the exercise has been released, the university officially start the admission list process for all successful candidates which usually take place in batches.

What do i mean by batches you may ask?

i am going to explain to you the unique method the University of Benin use to create the various cut off mark for all the departments and courses.
The admission list process usually take place in batches due to the fact that after the result of the screening exercise has been released, 

the result of only those aspirants who score above 50(aggregate) are taken into CONSIDERATION others that score below 50 in their post utme are advice to read the Urgent Steps for those Who Failed Post UTME.

Afterwards, owing to the fact that uniben cannot admitted all the aspirants who successfully pass (score above 50 in aggregate) the post utme screening exercise,

The university then use the estimate of the total number of successful aspirants for all departments to set a cut- off mark for admission into the various departments.

This is to say that the higher the number of aspirants who successfully pass (score above 50 in aggregate) the post utme screening exercise for a particular department, the higher the cut-off mark for that department.

 so therefore, aspirants who score above the cut-off mark for a given department are offered provincial admission first, before those who score the exact cut-off mark or fairly below, 
and then lastly, those who score way below the cut-off mark i.e 50 and a little above.

if you weren't admitted in the first batch, just relax in a maximum of one week the 2nd batch will be released, and 3rd batch thereafter. calm down and hope for the best.

 On confirmation of your admission status, you will then have to decide whether to accept the admission you were offered or reject it. 

Clearance Procedures

How to accept Uniben provincial Admission

If you choose to accept the admission given to you by the university, then follow the procedures below:

1. Visit the university page at https://www.uniben.edu 
2. Click on student portal and login with the username and password used for their application, result and admission checking.
3. Click on the “download application slip” button and print it. Ensure you take note of your new student id and password, because at the end of your internet session, your new student id and password will be what you must use for subsequent login.
4. Then logout (from your application account) and login with the new student id and password.
5. You can also decide to change your password (advisable for simplicity sake) by clicking “change password” button and you can also change your email and phone number by using the “edit” button.
6. Click on the menu button and click on admission letter to print your provisional admission letter.

Only candidate who applied for the post utme screening exercise and successfully wrote the exam with a (1- inch x 1-inch) with red background passport photograph used for the screening and already embedded in their documents (results and admission letter) to clear should proceed to pay the non-refundable acceptance fee which varies from session to session.

the acceptance fee for 2016/2017 according to https://uniben.waeup.org  is as shown below

How to pay Uniben Acceptance fee online

This method can be done with a mobile phone, using a recent version of operamini or google chrome.

1. Login to your school profile with the new student id and password and click on the menu button, click on “my data” select the “payment” option
2. Click on the “add online Payment ticket” button.
3. Select from the payment category, “acceptance fee” and click on the “create ticket” button 
4. A new payment ticket will be created you can then click the link on the payment ticket.
5. A new page will appear, you can proceed to click on the “Pay via Remita” button to view payment details
6.  Click on the “submit” Button to proceed with the payment through interswitch payment gateway.
7. Select your ATM card type, this could either be a verve or master card.
8. Supply the card details (card Number, expiration date, 4-digit pin etc) as required.
9. Go through all the process over again and ensure all details are well entered.
10. You can then proceed to Click on the “pay” button.
11. If payment is successful, an acceptance slip will appear on the screen.
12. Ensure you Copy the “clearance activation code” on the acceptance payment slip.

Note that immediately after the “provincial” admission is given, there is usually a deadline for the payment of acceptance fee after which the admission will be retrieved. So ensure you pay your acceptance fee as fast as possible to avoid falling victim.

On completion of all the steps above, i will like to say congratulations! You are now a partial (50%) student of the University of Benin.You can now proceed to do your online clearance when the clearance portal is open. 

Uniben Online clearance process/procedures 

Once the university opens the student on-line clearance portal, kindly follow the guidelines below for a successful on-line clearance:

• Login to your kofa page profile using your student ID and password.
• Copy the “Clearance Activation Code” on your acceptance payment slip.
• Click on “My Data” on the menu and select “Clearance data” option.
• Enter your “Clearance Activation Code” to open your Clearance/Eligibility form.
• Fill the Clearance/Eligibility Form appropriately and correctly.
• Upload the required documents.

Required Uniben Clearance Documents and their Meaning

All required documents must be a clear scanned version of their original.

1. Birth certificate or declaration of age (affidavits):

This refers the certificate issued to the parents of candidate by a registered Doctor at the time of birth.But due to one or two reasons most people may have lost possession of this certificate either by accident or by indirect damage.

Therefore such people are allowed to submit an affidavits of age declaration sworn in any Court of Law in Nigeria.

2. SSCE Certificates or statements of result:

This could either be the result obtained in the National examination council (NECO) or the West African Examinations council (WAEC).

All candidates are required to upload a clearly scanned copy of any of the above examination result.

Only aspirant who sat for the recent SSCE examination will be allowed to submit their Statement of Result from the School they sat for the examination.

If you are using two (2) results (which is allowed for only some departments) ensure you upload them respectively by exam year.

3.  Jamb Admission Letter

All candidates are required to obtain their Jamb admission letter  which contains the passport photograph of the candidate.

How to obtain your JAMB admission letter

1. Login to your jamb profile
2. Select “Print Admission Letter” (This is available on the side bar or on the Home page)
3. A Transaction ID will be generated for this service on a confirmation page screen.
4. Crosscheck the displayed details on the Confirmation Page.
5. Note that the Transaction ID is displayed in a “bold red font”.
6. The Transaction ID is considered very useful in case of future references concerning the Transaction.
7. So therefore a copy of this transaction ID will be sent to your registered email address.
8. Click on the Continue button if you wish to pay with your card immediately. If you wish to use other payment channels like ATM, Cash at the Bank or Quickteller, please note the transaction ID as it will be required.
9. On the Interswitch Payment page, enter your card details and click on the Pay button.
10. The status of your payment will be displayed on the “My Payment Section” An SMS and email containing your unique Transaction Identification and payment status will be sent to you after payment.
11. Click on the Continue button.

Once payment is completed, you will be asked to provide the following:

• Examination year 
• JAMB registration number

After entering the correct information, you can now proceed to print the Admission letter.  follow this link to begin

4. Acceptance letter

This is a formal letter that indicates that you accept the provincial admission given to you by the university. It must be well typed.See sample of uniben Acceptance letter below

Note that your hand written signature must appear on this letter, therefore the letter has to be typed, signed by you and scanned before uploading.

5. Guarantor’s letter

A guarantor simply means a person who gives guarantee. That is to say, a guarantor is simply a person who assume responsibility of whomever he/she decides.

This letter must be duly signed by whosoever that have decided to take full responsibility of you and whatever expenses that may arise as a student (upkeep).See a sample of guarantor's letter below:

6. Affidavit of good conduct

This indicates that you will exhibit good conduct and morals in the school premises and it will be used against you when you behave contrarily which can cost you your admission.

It must be duly signed and stamped at any high court of justice in Nigeria.

Note that your hand written signature and that of the court representative must appear on this letter, therefore the letter has to be typed, signed and scanned before uploading.

7. Affidavit of non-membership of secret cults

This letter is used to indicate that you are not a member of any secret cult and can be used against you in the court of law when proven otherwise, which will definitely terminate your admission.

This is because the University of Benin has zero tolerance for cultism.

8. Uniben provisional admission letter

This is the admission letter given to you by the school, and it contains the department you are admitted into.

• Login to your kofa page with your student id and password.
• Click on the menu button and click on admission letter to print your provisional admission letter.

9. Local Government Area of origin certificate

This certificates are issued by local government councils of your home town. It can only be gotten from your state of origin local government Secretariat.

Ensure you indicate that it is going to be used for school purpose to reduce the cost.It will be typed and printed for you after you've been asked some few questions like; the name of your father’s home town, etc.

Finally, ensure you go along with a passport photography, that will be clipped and stamped on it.

  Note that if you do not have the complete details or documents you can save your form by clicking the “save” button at the bottom of the clearance form page and get back to it when all requirements are complete.Ensure you don’t make the mistake of clicking the “save and request button” when you are not done with the application.This is because after Final submission, you cannot edit the clearance/eligibility form anymore. 

Uniben Physical Clearance Process/procedures 

After your online clearance process, the university will take some few days break (which I believe won’t be much due to the school calendar) before starting the physical clearance process.

An invitation letter will be given to your on your school profile. This letter indicates the exact date you are to come for your physical clearance and failure to make it on that day might result to a lot of issue.

So therefore ensure you check your school profile regularly for your physical clearance invitation letter. 

Required documents for Uniben Physical Clearance

Ensure you Arrange all the original copies of the documents listed below in an office file,Get enough red background Passports (1"x1") at least 30 – 40 copies.Don’t be scared you will definitely exhaust them before the end of the session.

You are strongly advice to make at least 10 photocopies of each of your original documents, Arrange the photocopied documents in an office file as well (i.e. 1 of each documents should be arranged together in a file)

and have at least 10 copies of that file (with the arranged documents), Each of the files must have a passport attached to it.

The file containing all original documents will collected from you by the clearance officer for inspection and later returned back to you.

And a file containing the photocopy of the same set of document will be submitted to the clearance officer and will not be returned.

Below is the list of all required documents for Uniben Physical Clearance

1. SSCE (WAEC or  NECO) result and a new scratch card ( 1 card for one sitting result and 2 cards for two sitting results) For confirmation of result.
2. Original Jamb admission letter
3. Original Jamb result
4. Birth certificate or age declaration
5. Local government of origin cert
6. Affidavit of good conduct
7. Affidavit of non-membership of secret Cult.
8. Guarantor's letter
9. Acceptance letter
10. SSCE (WAEC or NECO) certificate or statement of result.

Ensure you keep the remaining photocopies of documents as you will also be needing them for other clearance process (departmental clearance, faulty clearance, hostel clearance and others).
